Many athletes have raw talent; however, many of these talented athletes will not receive proper training to enhance their abilities. With the proper direction and training, some of these athletes can develop their skills even more.
Today, athletics is extremely competitive, and many parents are hiring personal trainers to give their athlete a competitive edge. AAU teams, summer camps and summer leagues are other avenues that parents and coaches are involving their athletes in.
The camps, leagues and skills training are not free. Because of this, NLA has implemented a sponsorship program for athlete or team in need of assistance. Our sponsors will have the option of choosing a particular school, area or individual athlete. The requirement for receiving a sponsorship is:
- Recommendation for coach or teacher
- Each athlete must qualify for the public school free lunch program
- 95% attendance
- 2.00 GPA or Higher
There are different ways to sponsor an athlete or team:
- Single sessions are $55/hr
- PASS training (6 member maximum) 12 sessions skills program $350 per athlete
Team training (10 member minimum) 12 sessions skills program $200 per athlete
Tutoring sessions for: English, Math and Reading is $50 hr
